Our Why

Our Why. Ken and I both have full-time, non ranch jobs, so I get asked often, why are y'all doing this: raising animals, selling at farmers markets? And the answer is easy. This picture is the reason--we do this for our family, but specifically for the girl in the middle. Korbyn is our why. We don’t just want to live on the ranch, we want to create a working ranch for her to have a productive, full life--with a purpose, and surrounded by her family. So we raise chickens and pigs that she helps to feed and care for. She helps on processing day. She sells our eggs and chicken at the farmers markets. As she gets closer to adult-hood, this becomes even more important.
