Korbyn

Korbyn is a big reason why we moved our family to the ranch. As she gets older, and I imagine her life as an adult, I want to do everything I can to provide her a meaningful life. Independence is our main goal (Thank goodness--because she was born fiercely independent). But, not just being able to make a grilled cheese sandwich, or have a part time job. But, to have a life, that is also her job, where she is active, happy and has a true purpose. This may seem like a big aspiration, but we feel a working ranch is where this can happen for her. Korbyn is a 16 year old girl with Down Syndrome who can read, write, think, and has no physical limitations--the sky is the limit.


When I talk to her teachers and administrators about our goals, it’s very simple: Inclusion is our main focus and for 2 reasons. 1. She thrives in an environment where she is surrounded by people of her own age. Her language improves and her self confidence soars. And 2. It is important that our community sees Korbyn as a capable human who CAN. Because o
